Over the weekend, one of my best friends had her bachelorette in Malibu, and it was seriously one of the best weekends of my life! Eleven of Jenna’s favorite girl friends caravanned from San Diego up to Malibu, stocked with junk food and alcohol, we landed at the Sheraton in Agora Hills (so nice, by the way!), and the festivities began!
I unfortunately don’t have a ton of photos of how insanely adorable her hotel room was decorated with penises by the maid of honors. But I do have this awesome picture of Jenna with her blow-up fiancée (she has a real one [!] we just had to give her a temporary one for the weekend). After we got situated in our rooms, we all drove down to Ollo in Malibu and had a really nice dinner, where we also got to play a bachelorette scavenger hunt – which me and my group had already accomplished more that half of the assignments back at the hotel. One was to propose to a stranger, which is the picture of Mandy right down there on one knee and another was the Charlie’s Angels pose with a stranger, check and mate by asking our sever!!
After dinner we headed back to the hotel and played a bunch of bachelorette games involving Cards Against Humanity, jello-shots, a blow-up penis pillow, and bra pong.
The next day, however, was easily the best day ever for a lot of us. We went down to the Malibu Wine Safari and seriously just had the best rain-soaked, animal filled, wine drunk Sunday ever. I’m not a huge fan of wine, and this was my first ever wine tour, but I’m so in love with their Saddle Rock Reisling that I bought myself a bottle 😂
So, to start from the beginning, we knew it was going to rain. But it was only an 80% chance from 10-12, our tour started at 11 so we were praying to God to let the day magically be sunny and 75. God, on the other hand, wanted to make this trip even more memorial then it would’ve been on a normal sunny day. It poured the second we pulled into the parking lot. And so, as the true champs
and wine/animal obsessed we are, we pulled on our rain coats, threw on some brightly colored ponchos, to stand out from the crowd of course, and we headed out into the rainy wine tour!
We got to feed alpacas, zebras, water buffalos, an ox, and a camel on our way over to the main source of why we chose Malibu Wine Safari, and it’s not necessarily the wine…
After feeding all these cuties, we found what we came for, STANLEY THE GIRAFFE. I doubt you’ll believe me if I tell you Jenna cried when she first got to pet him, but she did, so there. None of us could get away from him and he must’ve been stuffed with the amount of lettuce we fed him – thankfully he wasn’t camera shy either.
Oh, and I realized this place is 100% my future wedding venue. Now all I need is the boyfriend, who’d be totally down to have a giraffe in a bow-tie at our wedding – but I mean why get married if he isn’t?!
And this is where I’ll leave you with the last few pictures of our bachelorette weekend extravaganza! Let me know if you have any recommendations for wine tours in Southern California because I’d be totally down for another weekend as fun as this one!
